Membership:
Time to Get On Board
- Attend educational and inspirational lectures.
- Become involved in the community.
- Develop personal leadership skills.
- A chance to improve the lives of women and girls.
We are a diverse group of women, all ages and different occupations. Our common cause is to be a “global voice for women,” and membership in Soroptimist International allows us to impact the lives of women and girls locally, nationally, and around the world.
Attendance at meetings is not mandatory, but it helps you stay current with all the club’s activities and helps to get to know other members. Most of the work is done by Committees, which meet at their discretion and use email to organize and plan their work.
Our Soroptimist club is not officially in session in July or August; however, we enjoy so many of the summer community activities that we still get together as a group and participate.
Dues are approximately $180 a year and are payable each June for the coming year. Dues are prorated according to the month that you become a member. A set portion of dues supports our Federation as well as our Region area. These figures are set through the headquarters of Soroptimist International of the Americas and Founder Region.
All new members usually have a “sponsor” and this is the person who recommended you as a member to the club. If you don’t know someone personally to be your sponsor, we will gladly have a member fill that role for you. The role of the sponsor is to answer questions, introduce you to other members and help you get off to a good beginning.
If you are interested in learning more about us we would like to invite you to attend one of meetings. We have a social time during which you can get to know us a little more informally. We certainly look forward to hearing from you and hope that you would consider membership.
